'Little Makes' 1/2 scale Tot-Rod Bodyshells

Welcome to the wonderful world of 'Little Makes' ....

For a long time we had watched how GRP Tot-Rod bodyshells are made and sold in a fairly crude form for in excess of £500 leaving you needing to do a lot of re-finishing, sanding, filling and painting...looked like too much like hard work to us !

We Looked at it very closely and were confident that it could be done much easier, for certain styles of bodyshells, and using alternative light weight materials.

So a plan was hatched to utilise composite aluminium sheet for its strength, durability, ease of cutting and being able to form simple folds...

The nature and style of what we could create led us towards a vehicle style similar to a Moke, Scamp, Robin Hood and similar kit cars of yester-year, and with a riveted assembly means we can swap out panels when damage occurs very easily - not something you can do with a GRP or 3D printed body.

Several variants were created with development and tweaking at every stage to a point where we can now CNC cut all parts needed from a single sheet of material and assemble in around 10 hours with very capable air driven and battery power  riveters

Size

The finished units are approx 1.4metres long, 700mm wide and approx 600mm tall to the top of the windscreen surround when installed.

Colours

The units are available in 12 standard colours, white is the basic colour and you can paint the units any colour you like obviously, the 11 other colours below are standard finish of the composite aluminium sheets we use and are uniform and robust in finish.

Drivetrain

Options for adding a drivetrain to the bodyshells are very wide....

You could aquire and utilise all of the running gear and components from a basic mobility scooter  - as we have with our black demonstrator

There are a vast array of kits available on Ebay and Amazon for rear axle drive - motors, batteries, axles, differentials and steering kits are all available.

We can offer help and advice where needed, and suggest a trip to see us and the black demonstrator before you start your build. We cannot offer a constant support mechanism however due to very large workloads and often being away from workshops for extended periods - messages will bve answered whem time permits, but often it can take a while to get back to you.

It really is best to bear in mind that we ARE making the bodies, but cannot tell you or help you in any great way as to a definative route to motorising them.

Lead Times

We are currently making one or two units per week... in this early stage with so much interest and people wanting units we are currently on a 4 week lead time. THIS MAY CHANGE and the units may take longer than anticipated ... so if you are in a rush or hoping to achieve a finished unit very quickly, you may want to rethink your timescales perhaps.

Prices below are for purchase only... we operate pre-payment and once your order is received you will be notified of progress at every stage.

It is best you collect your bodyshell if possible - good for you to see how we have finished our demo unit and gleam as much info as possible.

Units can be shipped, but be aware it would be a large crate costing £60.00 and then shipping costs on top.
